A report dated May 5 from clickondetroit.com said that a bed bug treatment caused a harmful fume incident in a Garden City apartment in Michigan. It was said that hazmat crews were called in to get the situation resolved. On the other hand, knowing that chemical-based bed bug sprays could cause such and other problems, BedBugBully.com advised the public to always make careful bed bug solution choices.

Reportedly, the incident happened in Village Lake Apartments. The report said that one resident sprayed to kill bed bugs. However, entering the apartment before the three hours waiting time is up, the bed bug affected room occupant caused a havoc in the apartment complex.

According to the report, with fumes leaking into the hallway, several residents suffered from breathing problems. It added that one was even hospitalized because of it. In all, based on the report, about a dozen family were affected by the incident.

Chuckchansi Resort and Casino is dealing with a possible bug infestation.

A spokesperson says evidence of swallow bugs, a close relative of bed bugs, has been found in the Chuckchansi Tower.

The Tower is currently under renovation, but recently employees reported bug bites. Exterminators have been brought in to treat the area and ensure the bugs haven’t spread.

The Chukchansi Resort and Casino is dealing with a pest. A spokesperson for the resort says swallow bugs have moved in.

Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino General Manager Matt Olin says, During the renovation and cleaning of the Chukchansi Towers, our team members reported possible swallow bug bites.”

He says those bites came from swallow bugs. Swallow bugs are close relatives to bed bugs. They usually feed off of birds. When birds aren’t around they’ll settle for people.

Olin says, “We brought in professional pest control experts to not only examine and treat the Chukchansi Tower, but also to ensure there were no issues with the other guest areas.”

Olin says the bugs are isolated in the Chukchansi Tower. He says so far, there haven’t been any reports of bites from guests.

COARSEGOLD, Calif. (KMPH) –

The Madera County Environmental Health Department confirmed to KMPH News on Tuesday that one of the towers of the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino was forced to shut down to get rid of what was reported as a bed bug infestation.

On Wednesday, Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino General Manager Matt Olin issued the following statement:

“During the renovation and cleaning of the Chukchansi Towers, our team members reported possible swallow bug bites. While these are not bed bugs, the safety and comfort of our guests is our highest priority and we brought in professional pest control experts to not only examine and treat the Chukchansi Tower, but also to ensure there were no issues with the other guest areas.”

“We expect the highest standards of quality and cleanliness out of our guest rooms and we share the concerns of our guests. We can assure our guests that the other areas of the Casino and guest rooms in the Picayune Towers have been examined and are unaffected. The Chukchansi Towers are still undergoing renovation and when they reopen they will meet the highest standards, including upgrades and routine deep-cleaning.”

“Just as we took immediate steps to address the issue, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards for our guests and our customers going forward. We are instituting a more aggressive monitoring program, routine deep cleaning, and have retained multiple pest control experts to ensure the cleanliness of our facilities.”
